November Update

Well, here is the update for November. Things have been very busy since my last post back in October. So I'll start this thing off with the bad news. My cat had got fleas early in October and my bank card information had gotten stolen. The good news about this is my fiance and me contain the fleas right about the time my cat became infected with them and that the bank gave me all my money back that had gotten stolen. So no biggie there just wasted time and added stress to life. Other bad news is that I had a 2% decline in my goal completion rate due to these events and it's probably going to drop for November also. So I'm just going to have to fix that in December.

Things that you may find somewhat interesting is that my camera and video editing programs are finally here. So this weekend I'll will be practice recording and editing. I have been working on a couple of short screenplays as you know for the web series that my cousins and friends are working on together. Hopefully we'll start launching videos in January.

Other than that I have my GMAT test on Tuesday. Wish me luck. Until next time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Updates Coming Tonight

Sorry for being M.I.A. but there will be an update and a couple of posts tonight.

October Update

Hello everyone, I know I've been M.I.A. but here I am with the October update. I'll start this off by discussing what I have been up to. So I've beaten Halo: Reach and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. (Reviews on the way). I've also finished a couple of books and graphic novels. Other things that have taken up my time are studying special effects and writing some short screenplays. I've really been focused on learning more about film making.

Other things to discuss is that I've had a 3% drop for my goal completion rate for September. That's two months in a row with declining results. For October I'm just hoping to have an increase results and get back on track.

Really other than that I've got a couple of posts coming up (lots of reviews) and my cousin Rico wants me to be his producer for his web series that he is working on. I'll have to think about that since I have my own work to worry about.

So there you have it. Nothing much with this update. Until next time.

The Black Prism Review

Brent Weeks has done it again. Writing a great book that is. After his impressive debut with the Night Angel Trilogy (The Way of Shadows, Shadows Edge, and Beyond The Shadows) back in 2008 Brent Weeks gives us another epic adventure with The Black Prism, the first book in the Light Bringer Series.

The Black Prism is everything that is right with the fantasy genre. Great characters with flaws that make them feel realistic, a unique magic system based off the the color spectrum where basically anything is possible, plot twists, humor, tons of details, and it not being the stereotypical fantasy story like Lord of the Rings makes this novel an instant favorite of mines.

Here are the two summaries I found for the book:

1. Gavin Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. But Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live: five years to achieve five impossible goals. But when Guile discovers he has a son, he must decide what he's willing to pay to protect a secret.

2.Set in a world where color is the basis of all magic, Gavin Guile is the current Prism - and one that happens to have many secrets. Secrets like his brother Dazen, who he defeated in the great war years earlier and now keeps in a dungeon below his home. Or secrets like his son Kip, a young man raised in another land who has yet to realize the full extent of his powers. As Kip begins to learn the truth behind Gavin and Dazen's great schism, he will also learn that time is running out for the world as they know it. For the Prism is not what he seems to be, and there are greater powers afoot than could ever have been imagined.

I would rate this book a 9.6 out of 10.

DMZ Vol. 1 Review

I gotta say when I saw DMZ at 7 on IGN's Top Ten Vertigo Comics list, I had to check it out for myself. I had been eying this comic for sometime now so when IGN said to check it out, I did and there is no regret. DMZ by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli is one of the most amazing series I have read. The story for this masterpiece is that people are tired of the US being in international affairs all the time and not helping out the country. A group of citizens banned together to make the Free Army and fight the US Military. Yes it's the second civil war. After a couple of years of the war going on a reporter decides to go to Manhattan and report what it's like in the DMZ. I don't want to say much more than that to ruin the many surprises and great scenes that take place in this comic.

DMZ has a great story, surprises, and great artwork. I recommend this to anybody who likes war and documentaries. I would rate this a 9 out of 10.

Sept. Update

Hello everyone, well here is the update for September. Let's start this thing off with saying that my trip to NY and Philly was great. There will be soon be posts about that amazing trip with my fiance.

Next I will discuss goals. For August I slipped up and only accomplished 62% of my goals. This is an 8% drop from July. I am very disappointed in this decrease, hopefully in September this will not happen again. Like I said for August I hope to achieve 80% of my goals. I'm more determined this month to achieve this goal. Positives about my goals stats for August is that it is my second highest completion since I started this goal regiment. I also didn't drink any pop or energy drinks for the month, so I accomplished that. But I must say that the desired affects that I wanted didn't happen. On August 1st I weighed 179.0 lbs, on Sept. 1st I weighed 182.6 lbs. So as you can see I gained weight, this is not what I wanted but I can say that I do feel better from not drinking pop and energy drinks.

Things to look forward to are that I will not eat any fast food for this month, and I will report the results of that. Remember I weighed 182.6 lbs on September 1st. Other things are that you can check me out of Tumblr at In My Mind. That's really all I have for the update. Sorry for the lateness and the laziness. I have been real busy with vacation, working on two blogs, getting ready for school in the winter, and my creative work. I will try to improve my timing and perfection in the future. See you later.

New York, New York

Well I'm going on vacation, leaving tomorrow morning to New York then heading to Philadelphia later in the week. So that means the Ultimate Universe will not be seeing any action this week well there maybe some on Saturday but not guaranteed. There will be a lot of blogging when I return to base so make sure to check in next week. Have a good week while I'm gone.

Dying to Live Review

A decent zombie novel that you guys may want to look into is Dying To Live by Kim Paffenroth. So basically everything is there for this to be decent. Zombies, relationships, gore (One scene in particular is disturbing), groups of people trying to survive. The only problem with this book is that it's so short only about 190 pages and haven't found the $8 paperback for it either. I would rate this novel a 7.5 out of 10.

Halo: Fall of Reach Review

So with Halo: Reach coming out tomorrow I would like to discuss one of the halo novels. Halo: The Fall of Reach is the first book created for the haloverse. It is the prequel to the First Halo Game on Xbox. It tells the story of how Master Chief came to be. His training, first missions, how he became a leader, and of course how the colony of reach fell. For those of you that are interested in the haloverse I would recommend this book. I would also recommend this book to anyone who like futuristic or military entertainment. This book is good even if you aren't familiar with the halo series.

I'm telling you guys that this really is a great read. I know myself I just looked at these halo novels as another way for Microsoft to make money off of one of the most popular games of all time. Well while I was at Kent I had a roommate that had read the first three books in the halo series and told that they were good and I should look in to reading them. Now this really meant something to me cause I never saw this guy read anything so for him to say they were good forced me to check them out. On a side note my old roommate was also the kind of person that didn't like nothing. Food, movies, games, music that most people liked he didn't. Now back to the book. I'm going to give this book a 9 out of 10. Check it out.

Tankgirl: Skidmarks Review

As many of you know I love to read comics. One of my favorite comics is Tankgirl. Recently Tankgirl: Skidmarks came out as a graphic novel and let me tell you that it will confuse the shit out of you. Skidmarks is the kind of graphic novel were you say hey this thing sucks but later say this thing is amazing. It's the kind of comic were you don't know if it's good or bad. It's really up to the person who is reading it. But with that said I do recommend it to anyone who reads comics or likes weird entertainment.

So what is Skidmarks about? The story is that Tankgirl and her friends must enter the most dangerous race in the United States. Why you ask? Because their friend was in a skateboarding accident and they need money for her brain surgery. Skidmarks involves wacky characters and a beavis and butthead kind of humor. If you like a wild ride I recommend this comic.

August Update

Yep it's time for the August Update actually delivered on time for the first time. So with the hall of fame game next weekend I just like to give a shot out to my favorite team the Tennessee Titans. Make me proud boys. That's RB Chris Johnson in the pic up there for those of you who didn't know. He just broke the most yards by a running back last season. He also rated 99 in Madden 2011.

Moving on to more important things this day is the first day that I will not be drinking pop or energy drinks for the month of August. I also will be working out about 15 times this month, the reason for this is that my pass for the rec expires on the 21st and I can't get it renewed until September. Another reason for this is that I will be going to New York and Philadelphia on the 22nd. Yes, I will be blogging about my trip. I also will be mediating everyday this month. To also let you know I weighed myself this morning and I weighed 179.0lb. I will weigh myself at the end of the month to see the effect of not drinking high sugar drinks and working out.

Next I want to talk about my goals. Back in July I did a post called Goals What Are They For? I told you that for May I had completed 32% and in June completed 48%. I also told you that I wanted to complete 75% for July. Well I came up short, I only completed 70%. This is a disappointment to me but also a success that I came close to obtaining the goal. For August I hope to achieve 80% of my goals. Wish me luck.

Other things are that yes I am working hard on my projects. Some of the upcoming blogs are Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Review, Warbreaker Review, Why Brandon Sanderson is becoming the best fantasy author?, Racism in America, Top Ten Fictional Characters, What blacks need to do to become creative in the arts again, Ninja Cowboy Viking Review, Recipes, New York Trip, Fashion, Taking Care of Yourself, and Patient Zero Review.

There you have it, the August Update.

Inception Review

Inception isn't just a movie directed by Christopher Nolan, it is a mind fuck directed by Christopher Nolan. Yes I said a mind fuck. The kind of thing that will have you thinking about it for days trying to decode the many messages and visuals throughout the film. Inception is the best movie of the year so far and probably will keep that position. It is the clear runner up to dominate the academy awards and for that I salute Mr. Nolan. Your inspiration to any upcoming director or writer. To make this simple I will not say anything but go see Inception because its just that good. I rate it a 9.8 out of 10. That's the highest score anything has gotten here at the ultimate universe. So one more time go see Inception, you'll be doing yourself a favor.

Staying Fit

So a lot of people ask me, Jay how do you stay fit? I say I workout you lex bubble and drink water constantly. But in all seriousness I need to do more to stay fit. So this is what I'm going to do. Starting July 18th I will burn at least 500 calories during each workout session. I will also drink at least 3 glasses of water each day starting August 1st. During the month of August I will not drink any energy drinks or pop. Yes you heard it no energy drinks or pop for August. For those of you who don't know I love Monster and Code Red Mountain Dew a lot. I will also eat more vegetables and fruit with also decreasing my meat intake.

Now you say Jay that only making you physically fit what about your mind? Is your mind fit or is it easy to mind fuck you? So here is what I'm going to do to exercise my mind. I'm going to start meditating for 5 minutes everyday and adding a minute ever week after until I reach 20 minutes. Next I will study other cultures, religions, and just gain knowledge.

So there you have it, that's what I'm doing to stay fit in a unhealthy world. I will be updating you on my progress and giving ideas on how to eat healthy, exercise better, and what to do for your mind.

Pilot Talk Review

For those of you who like real rap music and not that Roscoe Dash or Soulja Boy crap well check out my bro Curren$y. His debut studio album dropped on July 13th titled Pilot Talk. What I've heard looking at twitter and other sites is that the album was basically sold out as soon as the stores opened. No worries for me thought because I download all of my music off of itunes. Well lets get down with this review. Pilot talk has gone production and of course an excellent hip-hop artist. The album features production from Ski Beats, Monsta Beatz, Mos Def, and Nesby Phips. The album also has guest appearances from Mos Def, Snoop Dogg, Jay Electronica, and Devin the Dude. The album is a good length for his debut and the only real problem is that his running mate Wiz Khalifa didn't get on the album do to a clearance problem. I would rate this album a 9 out of 10. Hopefully for Curren$y sophomore he can get production from the Neptunes or Kenye West for a couple of tracks and Khalifa gets on it.

Here are some videos from the album.

Biomega Review

If you like the anime Akira and also like zombies you should check out Biomega. Biomega is a manga by Tsutomu Nihei. How did I find out about this wonderful piece of ecstasy. Well me and my wonderful fiance where checking stuff out at borders and biomega glimpsed my eye while I was about to leave. I said hey that looks interesting and interesting it was. Now I've only read the first volume of the series and soon I will pick up volume 2. I have to wait awhile for volumes 3 to 6 to come out in the states. So far volume 1 is excellent the only problem is that it's short on dialogue. I would rate volume 1 of Biomega a 9 out of 10. I will keep you posted about this amazing series.

Goals, What Are They For?

So for the last two months I have made monthly goals for myself so I can stay productive during this time of me not working or going to school. I feel that this has worked for me and I will continue to do it when I return to work and school. So let me give you my results so far. For the month of May I achieved was 32% and for June 48%. Now I know your thinking Jay that's not good but it is because I have about a 1000 goals each month. So it's like I completed 320 things for May and 480 for June which is good because before I set goals all I really did was play videogames and do nothing else. Setting goals has put me in a much better place. For July I hope to get to 75% completion. Being halfway through the month I feel that I will achieve this based on the progress I have made so far. Wish me luck.

So with this talk of goals, what are some of you guys goals out there? Let me know.

July Update

Well here is the update for July 2010. Recently I had my family reunion which was fun. It took place in my home city of Akron, OH which means I was pretty busy during this time. I was busy making food, running things to areas where the reunion took place, registering people, acting, and making a history skit video for the reunion. A couple days after the reunion ended I fell ill with something I won't describe on here do to how disgusting it is. Unfortunately this illness made me real tired preventing me from blogging and doing anything creative but I'm all good. So here's the deal, I'm going to give you the proposed completion dates of all of my projects.

Release Dates:

Joe The Zombie Hunter Episode 2 & 3-8/2010
Short Story-9/2010
King-1/2011
Project Atom-2/2011
Project Revolution-6/2011
Untitled Film-8/2011
Untitled Novel co-written with two other authors-8/2011

There you have it the proposed completion dates. P.S. when I use the word project in the title it is not the real title of the project, it's a codename until I think of a title.

The Last Airbender Review

So here we go, my review of The Last Airbender. Where do I start with this thing? I mean this movie was awful, worst movie of the year and is an early favorite for the worst movie of the decade. M. Knight Shamalayan latest work destroys the last bit of credibility that he had. I review this movie from two perspectives: One being from a movie standpoint as if the avatar series never existed and also as an adaption so you can really understand how bad the film is.

So lets start with it being a movie just on it's own. The only good thing about this is that the film had decent special effects but then there's everything else. The acting is some of the worst I have ever saw. The characters have no emotion and the dialogue is just simple to say the least. It was like they were reading the lines off a TelePrompter: I am the avatar. Noah Ringer is a sure shot to get the Razzie this year. The plot doesn't make sense at all, the transitions are awful. You start out at one place and for some reason end up some were else. In this movie stuff just happens to be happening. There's no real reason behind why any of this is happening at all. The fight scenes are also boring using slow motion throughout ever single fight. I mean what is this 1999. I mean it was cool in the Matrix but even the Wachowski Brothers knew not to do it in every action sequence.

As an adaption this movie still sucks. The first problem is that M. Knight whitewashed all the protagonist main characters. For those who don't know Avatar: The Last Airbender is based off of the Asian culture with all the characters being Asian or Inuit. M. Knight also made all the antagonists minorities which really upset me because he playing at that whites are the saviors and minorities are going to destroy the world. Another problem is that he pronounce all of the characters names wrong. The movie also wasn't long enough to contain all the material of the first season of avatar. Main characters that were important to the storyline were missing also. M. Knight also narrated relationships between characters.
I give this movie a score of 1 out of 10.

For those of you who still want to see it keep this in mind: M. Knight Shamalayan is like a Cassidy Album, he gets you all hyped up cause he's a hustler but when you here it your like what the fuck is this.

R.I.P. Avatar: The Last Airbender in memory of the good times.

The Taking Of Chelsea 426 Review

Doctor Who: The Taking of Chelsea 426 is a good book for those with some experience with the Doctor Who franchise. My experience is very little but enough to enjoy this book. I just started watching Doctor Who this April with the 11th incarnation of the Doctor played by Matt Smith. I have also watched everything with the 9th Doctor and some of the 10th. As you can see I am catching up quickly on this series thanks to Netflix. So like I said you need some experience with the Doctor to enjoy this book.

This novel stars the 10th Doctor played by David Tennant which takes place at the space colony Chelsea 426. The plot of the novel is about the Rutans and Sontarans' War with each other and how they use Chelsea 426 to try to gain an advantage in the war.

This book is great for scifi lovers and fans of Doctor Who. It was action, comedy, twists, and wit that is known in the Doctor Who series. I would rate this book 8.0 out of 10.

Strengths: Action, Comedy, Twists, Wit, Great For Experience Doctor Who Fans, Good Writing

Weaknesses: Short, No Companion, Not For Noobs

Unclean Spirits Review

Let me start this thing off by giving you the summary on the back of the book:

Jayne Heller thinks of herself as a realist, until she discovers reality isn't quite what she thought it was, When her uncle Eric is murdered, Jayne travels to Denver to settle his estate, only to learn that it's all hers-and vaster than she ever imagined. And along with properties across the world and an inexhaustible fortune, Eric left her a legacy of a different kind: his unfinished business with a cabal of wizards known as the Invisible College.

Led by the ruthless Randolph Coin, the Invisible College harnesses demon spirits for their own ends of power and domination. Jayne finds it difficult to believe magic and demons can even exist, let alone be responsible for the death of her uncle. But Coin sees Eric's heir as a threat to be eliminated by any means magical or mundane-so Jayne had better start believing in something to save her own life.

Aided in her mission by a group of unlikely companions-Aubrey, Eric's devastatingly attractive assistant; Ex, a former Jesuit with a lethal agenda; Midian, a two-hundred-year-old man who claims to be under a curse from Randolph Coin himself; and Chogyi Jake, a self-styled Buddhist with mystical abilities-Jayne finds that her new reality is not only unexpected, but often unexplainable. And if she hopes to survive, she'll have to learn the new rules fast-or break them completely....

Well if that peaked your interest let me suggest who this book should be for. If you like an intelligent strong heroin as the protagonist, romance, drama, the supernatural, and series than this book is probably for you. One of the weaknesses of the book is there is not a lot of action, the book is more realistic compared to other supernatural novels. Another weakness is that the writing could be better. It feels sometimes the author tries to use two different styles but don't blend them very well. I would suggest to read this book only because it gets better as it goes on and it looks promising as a series. I would give this book a 7.5 out of 10. If you enjoy this book don't forget about it's sequel Darker Angels.

God of War Collection Review

With the release of God of War III in March I thought I would try to play the first two games from the Playstation 2. Luckily the games where re-release on the PS3 in the God of War Collection. Let me just say that for $30 this collection is worth buying. It has two of the greatest PS2 games ever made. I mean God of War I can be considered by some to be one of the top ten best games of all time. The graphics have been updated so they look more crisp. The controls still feel good and not like an old resident evil game. The gore of the game is art. Poetry in motion. The best part about it is that they added trophies so if you have played the games on PS2, this time around you will get rewarded for your work. But what makes the God of War Collection unique is the Greek Mythology, something you don't see a lot in entertainment. I would give this game a score of 9.0 out of 10.

Strengths: Updated Graphics, Great Gameplay, Gore, Trophies, It costs $30

Weaknesses: Too short

May Update

So it's been about 20 days since I last posted a entry on here and that is because I have been very busy. You say with what? Writing? NO not writing, I haven't wrote at all like I said I would because King is still missing something, I don't know what but I can't start without knowing. It's missing that magic that I want it to have and right now I'm going through a revamp for it. But since I haven't been writing I at least jolted down all of my ideas for King and future projects.

What I have been really up to though is that earlier in the month me and the misses went to the I Fight Dragons, Travie McCoy, 3OH!3, and Cobra Starship concert up at Kent State for free. It was legit and the best part was that it was free. I also saw Iron Man 2, The Losers, and Just Wright which I should I have a review of them sometime soon but I'm sure on that. I've been also playing the God of War Collection, I've beaten the first game and about 75% though the second. There will be a review on that in the classic review section that I'm making. I also went to go see this guy give a speach about the state of Africa and what needs to happen for the continent to become prosporous. I've also been reading comics for you and me but mostly for me because I love them and so behind in them. Some of the other things I been up to are shopping, cooking a bit, reading, and studing for the GMAT.

The most important thing that has happen in these past 20 is that my baby's Granny past away on the 16th. R.I.P. Beatrice Thurman, second to that was the 2nd annevarsy of my Mom passing. R.I.P. Jevonda Hill 12/1/1964-5/3/2008 A ceremony was held at her job at the prison for her and all of the fallen men and women who worked there.

As you can tell it has been a very busy and emotional 20 days in the ultimate univesrse but as things finally slow down you can look forward to me blogging about the top 10 black fictional characters, eating healthy, and what African-Americans need to do to become creative in the arts again. Peace

Triple Review and Free Comic Book Day

In celebration of free comic book day, here at the ultimate universe I'm going to do a triple review of comic related material. You ask what is a triple review JayPee? Well it is what it says it is. It's when I review three things in one blog entry so lets begin this thing.

Kick Ass Review
Kick Ass well it kicks ass. It is by far the best movie to come out this year. You should go see it but not just cause I say so. This film is funny and has a lot of kick ass action plus if you haven't read the comic book then you also be in for a few surprises too. It shows that a nerd can be a hero too or at least attempt to be one. It's the kind of movie that most people would enjoy except for people who want the world to go back to 1900. Overall I would give this movie a 9.3 out of 10, it's just that good.

Strengths: It kicks ass, funny, good action, surprises.

Weaknesses: What weaknesses it kicks ass.

Haunt

So I just finish reading Haunt literally, like right now. Haunt is the new comic created by Todd McFarlane (Spawn) and Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead). The comic so far is pretty good. It reminds me of spawn because of the main character's costume and parts of the story at the beginning are similar but other than that it starts to show it's own personality. It has some drama and tons of gory action. The artwork is awesome. I'll keep you updated on this comic but for now I would rate this a 8.6 out 10.

Strengths: McFarlane, Kirkman, Gore, Action, Good Artwork

Weaknesses: Beginning to much like spawn

Green Hornet

The last review is of Kevin Smith's Green Hornet. This is a remake/continuation of the Green Hornet story. Right now I have high hopes for this comic to become one of the greatest ever. My reason's for that is because of the story that has taken place so far in the first three issues and of the direction of Kevin Smith. If you don't know who Kevin Smith is, he is the guy who created Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob (That's Him), Clerks, Batman: Cacophony, and Batman: The Widening Gyre. He makes the stuff that people think are cult classics but back to the comic. The artwork is good just like any comic published by Dynamite Entertainment. Like I said earlier the story is good so far and it has a little bit of action. It also pays homage to the classic Green Hornet in various ways. So Far I would give this series a 9 out of 10. If you would also like to try this comic out you can get the first issue for free on Free Comic Book Day, you just have to find your local comic book store and you'll be all set up.

Suggestions For Comics

Here are some comics I also suggest.

The Walking Dead
The Boys
The Lone Ranger
X-Force
Batman and Robin
No Hero
Irredemable
Incorruptable
Greek Street
Madame Xanadu
Unwritten
Deadpool: Suicide Kings
Black Panther
Sweet Tooth
Stephen King's Dark Tower
Hunter Killer
Wolverine Origins
Blackest Night
Final Crisis
Dark Knight Returns

If you have any suggestions for me please leave a comment.

This one is simple, i just want to give some shot outs to my peoples that are doing big things on the net and in life. First I like to give it up to my babe over at My Spiritual Journey. I can't say her name cause she doesn't want me to put up on the web but anyway you should check that out. Next I like to give a shot out to my cuzzin Tre and his bros over at First Strike. You should check that out too, it's a videogame review blog. Next I'll like to give a shot out to my cuzzin Rico on youtube, his channel is dolla2buck, you shouldn't check that one out but if you want to go right ahead. My last shot out is to my bro John, he runs J.C. Comics and Cards in the Falls. He has almost any comic you can think of and if he doesn't he can get it for you. Plus free comic book day is this Saturday so you should absolutly check his shop out. Well other than that writing for King starts today, filming of Joe the Zombie Hunter begins real soon. Reviews for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Hair Story, Hood, Green Hornet, Kick-Ass, and Haunt will be up soon. Keep checking back this week cause I'm going to do a lot of blogging this week.

Project Update

Hello my fans, as you know by what I wrote in my first post that I am currently working on a web series with my cousin and working on some books. Currently I'm writing episodes 2 and 3 of Joe the Zombie Hunter. If you didn't see the first episode here is the link. Joe the Zombie Hunter Link The next episodes are going to be way funnier than the first and the zombies are going to look like zombies. Plus the first acting appearance by Rico will be in the second episode. Trust me you don't want to miss his bad acting, it's hilarious. Also Barack Obama will return. My cousin and me are also working on a new web series but we have know idea what it's going to be yet.

Other things I'm working on are three novels and a couple of short stories. The plot of my first novel titled King was finished yesterday. Now I'm about to start writing it. I figure it should be written in about 30 to 40 days. Then a couple more days to edit it. My second novel does not have a titled right now but it's codename is project atom. I've been working on this since November of 08. Eventually I'm going to finish it but I have so many ideas for it, it's hard to decide which ones to use but when I do figure it out it's going to be a classic. The third novel I'm working on does not have a titled nor a codename yet. It is simply a new idea that I had for a story that I think I'm going to pursue after I'm done with King. I'm also working on a couple of short stories that I will put up on my blog so you can see my work.

How The West Was Won

For those of you who don't know I'm a huge western fan. I can't get enough of the genre from reading it in comics and novels to playing videogames to watching Tarrantino's Mexican Standoffs. I just love the feel of the old west and right now it is no better time to be a fan of the genre for someone born in the 80's or later. What I mean by this is the rebirth of the genre back in 2004 when Rockstar Games released Red Dead Revolver, Deadwood, and the spagetti western themed Kill Bill Vol. 2 came out. At the time this just looked like three indivdual projects that were inspired by westerns but really was the beginning of the western rebirth. The next year we would see the release of No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy that was later made into a movie in 2007 which brought back a lot of interest in westerns. Later films like 3:10 to Yuma and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford staring big time actors like Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Russel Crowe, and Christain Bale. In the same year the videogame Call of Juarez came out. Dynamite comics would also join in the western rebirth by creating the Lone Ranger, The Man With No Name, and The Good The Bad and The Ugly comics. Marvel Comics would also follow in the footsteps of Dynamite by adapting Stephen King's fantasy western book series The Dark Tower into a comicbook. In 2009 the second Call of Juarez came would be released in the summer having some success at the time. Now FX networks has released a modern western show called Justified staring Timothy Olyphant. The modern western is pretty good with some critics saying it's better than the critically acclaimed The Shield but I wouldn't take it that far just yet. Next month the highly anticipation Red Dead Redemption will come out which I feel will really get a lot people into westerns. What is the future of westerns? Well supposely there making a Lone Ranger and Dark Tower movie. Hopefully will see another Red Dead and Call of Juarez game and maybe a new comicbook series or maybe I'll have to write my own western novel after I'm done with King. Thank You for reading, please leave comments. Here are some trailers.

Clash of the Titans Review

So my fiance and me just saw Clash of the Titans the day before it came and it didn't disappoint. If you have seen the original movie than you pretty much know the story so don't expect nothing new in that category. But if you want to see that same story with updated visuals then this is the movie for you. The visuals are impressive but what fantasy movie isn't these days. The film stars Sam Worthington a.k.a. Jake Sully The Nu Terminator as Perseus and Liam Neeson as Zeus. The movie has some pretty good battles of Jake Sully The Nu Terminator whopping some ass of Giant Scorpions, a hot Medusa, some random nasty dude, and of course the Kraken. I would give this movie a 8.4 out of 10.

Strengths: Visuals, Battles, Updated Look, Don't Have to Watch the Original Anymore

Weaknesses: Same Story, Average Acting, Jake Sully in a Skirt

Vegiterranean

So today was a interesting day because me and my girl are trying to decide if we want to become vegetarians. To help with are decision we decided to go to a vegan restaurant for lunch. For those who would like to try it out the name of the restaurant is Vegiterranean and it is located at 21 Furnace St. #402, Akron, OH 44308. Let me first say that the design of the restaurant is very modern which I love. The first dish we had was Wild Mushroom and Carmelized Cipollini Bruchetta with Herb Cashew Cheese. This dish is excellent and has a very unique flavor that I have never tasted before. It's toasted brushetta topped with wild mushrooms, onions, and cheese with their own seasoning. It also comes with a salad with a very unique dressing. The next dish we had was Penne Gratin. This dish is composed of whole wheat penne noodles, leeks, wild mushrooms, asparigus, roasted pine nuts, rawmesan, and covered in a cashew thyme cream sauce. This dish was also good but the whole wheat noodles somewhat overpowered the other flavors. For dessert we had a Blueberry Pie. It was one of the best I have ever tasted. I would give this resaurant a 9.5 out of 10. Food like this helps a lot when trying to figure out if you want to give up eating meat. So 1 win for being a vegetarian, lets see if it can go on a streak. Goodnight everyone.
